Product Introduction

The ODEX tool is a sophisticated three-piece assembly engineered for efficient drilling, including a pilot bit, reamer, and guide device.

  • When drilling begins, the ODEX reamer swings out and drills a hole wide enough for the casing tube to slide down behind the reamer.
  • When the required depth is reached, the reverse rotating direction allows the reamer to swing in, enabling the ODEX assembly to be passed through and pulled out of the casing.

Product Features

Efficient Removal: Rapid removal of cuttings during operation.
Eco-Friendly: No use of drilling mud required.
High Performance: High penetration rate, especially in resistant rock formations.
Convenience: Easy soil and groundwater sampling during drilling.
Measurement: Possible to measure yield estimates at selected depths.
Reliability: Advantageous in unconsolidated formations with high caving risk.

Application Range

Ideal for water wells, geothermal wells, short micropiles, and mini-type grouting holes for buildings, dams, and harbor projects.

  1. Start Phase: Reamer swings out to ream the pilot-hole for the casing tube.
  2. Retraction: Rotation is reversed to swing the reamer in for assembly retrieval.
  3. Sealing: Casing tubes left in the hole are sealed with cement grout or other agents.
  4. Completion: Drilling continues to the desired depth in bedrock using conventional methods.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main components of the ODEX240 system?
The system consists of three main parts: the pilot bit, the eccentric reamer, and the guide device.
Is the ODEX system suitable for hard rock?
Yes, it is designed for high penetration in soft, middle, and hard rock formations, offering versatility for different geological conditions.
Do I need to use drilling mud with this tool?
No, one of the primary features of the ODEX system is that it does not require the use of drilling mud.
What shank types are supported for ODEX240?
The ODEX240 is compatible with DHD, SD, Mission, and QL shank types, fitting a variety of standard DTH hammers.
How is the casing handled once the required depth is reached?
When the depth is reached, rotation is reversed, the reamer swings in, and the drill string is pulled up through the casing, leaving the casing in place.
Can we get yield estimates during the drilling process?
Yes, the ODEX system allows for yield estimates to be measured at selected depths within the formation.
